I know that I've been gone from the blog-o-sphere for quite some time. I think I've been hesitant to post because I'm starting a new chapter in my knitting life. For a long time I've thought about doing some design work. I have the skills to do it, just not the confidence. Sheryl convinced me that I should stop hem-hawing about it and just do it. It doesn't matter if no one else likes it. If it's not 100% perfect, that's OK too (Lord knows I find mistakes in patterns all the time!) Part of my problem is that I don't feel like I'm very creative. I can look at things and think "that's super cool", but it's hard for me to come up with something out of my own imagination.
I finished a loose fitting lace summer pullover that I love. I made it out of Classic Elite Katydid (aran cotton tape) that works up perfectly for the look I was going for. I've written up the pattern, but I'm still missing the photo. One of my other confidence issues it having photographs taken of me. That is why a lot of my sweaters are on mannequins or my head is cut out of the picture. Anyway, I wanted a really good picture taken for this being my first design. Sheryl is a really good photographer, but it is hard to work out a time where we can have a location shoot. I may have to get my daughter R to take the picture. She has a great eye for a nine year old.
I hope to have the pattern up next week.
